1. What types of therapy do you offer? I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and more. During our first session, we will discuss your needs and choose the best approach for you. My style is very eclectic and I like to pull from various therapeutic modalities.
2. What should I expect during my first session? In our first session, we’ll talk about your background, your current challenges, and your goals for therapy. This session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to ask any questions you may have. We’ll also discuss treatment options and how we can work together effectively.
3. How long will therapy take? The length of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from a few sessions, while others may work with me for several months or even longer. Together, we’ll determine the best pace for your progress.
4. Do you accept insurance? I currently accept Insurances and offer a sliding scale based on income and also have a regular self-pay rate for those who don’t qualify for sliding scale. Please contact me directly to discuss your insurance coverage or payment options.
5. What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment? If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. If there is an emergency, please let me know as soon as possible.
6. Is therapy confidential? Yes, confidentiality is a top priority in therapy. I adhere to strict privacy guidelines and will not share anything discussed in our sessions unless you provide written consent or in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
7. Can I bring a family member or friend to a session? In most cases, therapy sessions are one-on-one to provide a safe and personal space for you. However, if you feel it would be helpful to involve someone in your therapy process, please let me know. We can discuss whether this is appropriate for your treatment.
8. What if I need therapy outside of regular office hours? I offer limited availability outside regular office hours, such as evenings or weekends, depending on my schedule. Please contact me directly to inquire about availability for these times.
9. How do I get started? To get started, simply reach out to me by phone or email to schedule your first session. I’ll answer any initial questions you may have and help guide you through the process.
10. What should I do to prepare for my first appointment? Before your appointment, you will have to fill out some consent forms, as well as a general in-take form.
11. Do you do FMLA? I am able to help you with FMLA paperwork, however please note there is a documentation fee. Please inquire about these fees. Additionally, I require 5 sessions for FMLA to ensure accuracy for paperwork.
